TORREMAR MARBLE GROUP is a Spanish holding company specializing in quarrying marble and natural stone, processing into finished quality products, worldwide marketing of its marble, as well as its installation in situ.
The headquarters is located in Cehegin, north-east region of Murcia, integrated in the Mediterranean Marble Arch along Alicante, Murcia and Almeria.
The first company founded in the group was MARMOLES TORREMAR, S.L. (TORREMAR); it was on September 14th year 1979 with the essential purpose of proceeding, as stated in the articles of association, to the exploitation, extraction, processing, manufacturing, supply and installation of marble, rocks and granites. Registered in the Mercantile Registry of Murcia volume 610, folio 175, section 8, page 11 260 MU-4 registration.
From its founder's hand, Mr. Alfonso Marín Núñez, the company receives all his experience in the production of marble, especially in the extractive processes which He had exercised more than 20 years in quarries of the adjacent areas owned by the family. His entrepreneurial and visionary spirit takes him to create his own business with another partner member of his own family.
His management of the company has had a distinctly familiar, reaching with his acting a high degree of social integration at local, regional, national and international.
The company continued to grow and made necessary to recruit more qualified and specialized staff in different areas of business manegement, such as administration or commercial.
By 1985, MARIN GIMENEZ, SL (MARGISA) is creataed in order to respond better to the market, dedicated exclusively to commercial work, now with skilled personnel.
The general economic boom allowed the company to continue its expansive line, situation that lasted.
In this situation the company will make a dual purpose, commercialicing marble, installing it in construction, and sell to the big construction companies operating in the country at this time. All this ended with the creation of a new company, MADRID COLOCACIONES, S.L. (MACO), which would deal with this activity within the Group in the future.
As early as 1995, the business group began in the international market, which meant a few years of glory, channeling the product sales through the Italian market. By this formula the marbles sold by our group began to be known and become a niche market, especially in Asia.
Also in this is carried out the prospect of several international markets, concluding with the decision of introducing us as face shape in the expanding South American market. Finally is decided to set up in the Dominican Republic, by creating the Star Marble S.A. Company.
By this time a new company is created within the Group, EXTRACCIÓN DE MARMOLES, S.L.(EXMAR),whose purpose would be the extraction of material (marble blocks) in quarries owned by the group. That happens becouse due to the size of bussiness, it was been necessary to separate in this business unit, so it could be attended, because of its importance for the group, so that would not lead to supply problems.
In 1998 our group takes another important decision. It will organize the sale in the Asian market through our own means, and would create a new company for it, BES STONE, SL
Also at this time we decide to enter the American market (United States) with the creation of the company STAR MARBLE USA INC. based in Miami. (now in Charleston, South Carolina).
In this way Torremar Marble Group gets an 80 % of its billing in the international market.
In this year the company gets to ensure implemented the quality assurance system, certified by SGS TECNOS, and obtaining the Certificate "UNE EN ISO 9002”, and becoming the first company in the marble sector in the Region of Murcia (Spain ) and one of the first nationally to obtain this certificate.
In order to better serve the domestic and international market, we decided to promote one of the most important group quarries, marble called Crema Nacar. In response to this objective, we create a new company, MARMOLES NACAR, SL (MARNA).
In 2002 six companies coexist, and it confuses our target market. The Sales department is always giving explanations of their composition. Because this question is decided to perform a logical organization of all these companies and changing the corporate image by creating the brand "TORREMAR MARBLE GROUP" with a logo that will be the hallmark of the group, and starting a marketing campaign to raise awareness within our sector, our new corporate image that starts with the participation at the "Marble 2002" in Madrid, the biannual trade fair and the most important carried out in Spain.
In 2004 our group decided to embark on another major project, the conquest of the Chinese market, which has been completed to date with the creation of three companies, two commercial: YUNFU CITY MARIN STONE CO. ,LID. and PIEDRA STONE(XIAMEN) IMP & EXP CO, LTD.; and a producer LOGOS NANAN STONE CO., LTD.
MARBLE GROUP TORREMAR, in 2008, began his opening market in Panama with the constitution of the company SUMINISTROS DE MARMOLES S.A, by which intends to commercialize in this country all products made in their factories of Spain, China, Dominican Republic .
